The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – Rei which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and Ki which is “life force energy”. So Reiki is actually “spiritually guided life force energy.”
Every person has a “biofield” — an energy field just outside your body. When something messes with it, you get sick or don’t feel well. Reiki works to restore its balance through pressure, movement, or breathing. It involves the transfer of universal energy from practitioner’s palms to their patients to encourage emotional or physical healing.
A trained Reiki practitioner can bring comfort in an acute or emergency situation.
